Little Brick Cottage, more updates…

Yesterday I told you that we now have the bathroom sheet-rocked at “The Little Brick Cottage”. Well, that’s not all we have sheet-rocked…

The kitchen was so ripped up and patched with junky paneling, that we decided  to tear it all out, insulate the exterior wall and sheetrock the entire kitchen, including the walls, ceiling and even the little back entry.

This picture, above, was taken before we also removed that short wall of beadboard to patch it in the dining room. What I’m saying is, this kitchen actually looked even worse than it does in this picture before we sheetrocked!

As you see here, yes, the taping and mudding has begun.

I think in the bathroom, kitchen and two entries I’ll be installing a beadboard 5’ high. This “Little Brick Cottage” is actually a Victorian Farmhouse style, so a 5’ beadboard would be very appropriate for that era. Then that way the original 3’ high beadboard in the Dining Room will be its own special entity.

The next update on “The Little Brick Cottage” will show you something we did, but weren’t planning on doing…

In my love of creating well functioning spaces that are beautiful to exist in, I've found there are always new possibilities for rooms. It doesn’t take a huge amount of money to make a fabulous place, but instead it's all about how to creatively decorate with a little bit to accomplish it.

  1. I love the 5ft. beadboard idea. We did it in our bedroom, and also used the same height using a chair rail moulding in out oldest DD’s room. There’s just something about it!

  2. Can’t wait to see the final results :)

  3. Good luck and hange in there!!!
