Someone Else’s House…A Sun-filled Front Sitting Room…Game Table

So just to re-cap, the sofa is the inspiration in creating the cottage themed room that is the first welcome to my friend’s home. After the sofa purchase, the pair of chairs were ordered, then she worked in the rescued writing desk on the left and painted cabinet on the right. Today we are spotlighting the  table and chairs in the front window.

Because this grouping abuts the front South-facing windows, it gives way for the sun to come streaming through the windows in the winter months, when the sun sits low in the sky. How wonderful as this task seating allows convenient studying, a lunch or game playing to be blanketed in the warmth of the rays.

Treasured warmth, so much appreciated in the cold winter months here in NW Wisconsin, where temps can dip to -30.

Well this wraps up 5 key elements to building the collage of a cottage styled room in “Someone Else’s House” , but we’re not done…next time we’ll see another vintage piece, and this one, as you’ll see, anchors the room.

About DecorateWithaLittleBit.com

In my love of creating well functioning spaces that are beautiful to exist in, I've found there are always new possibilities for rooms. It doesn’t take a huge amount of money to make a fabulous place, but instead it's all about how to creatively decorate with a little bit to accomplish it.

  1. Very pretty. Very sunny and cheery like the table and chairs.

I discovered your blog recently by referral from another blog, really enjoy it. I too love interior decorating, fixing things up. I’d love to have that couch in your picture. Love the style. That room looks so welcoming and cozy. Know what you mean about the winter temps. We lived in MT outside Helena. I also traveled with my truck driver husband many times thru Wisconsin in the winter.
The sofa we have was given to us but is much too big for our small living room. I hate the big poofy arm stye too. It’s really comfy but just not me. I love the contemporary look in theory but not in comfort, too rigid for me I guess. Our whole living room (should have said house) is from other people, thrift shops, wherever we could find things. My husband used to work at a senior housing village and the things people threw out were incredible. My coffee table is an outside faux wicker table with glass top and faux wicker shelf beneath. I really like it but might just have to paint it this summer. Can’t stand to leave things as they are for very long.

Thank you for stopping by... Let me know what you think, I love to hear from you!
