Our House… A Small Porch with a Vintage Garden Collection

Even though ‘Our House’ was designed with a front porch… well it’s pretty small, so maybe you’d call it a more of a ‘stoop’ than a porch… anyway, the way our house is laid out, visitors can’t seem to find their way to the ‘front’ (that’s why we now have the other pergola entry into the dining room) and so this porch has become a quiet spot where I display some of the vintage garden tools I’ve collected over the years.

Adjoining this small ‘front’ porch is the patio with the pergola we built, I showed you here.

The living room and library window both open onto this porch, so the sounds from it carry into the house…

On a calm day we hear the trickle of this little water fountain inside…

And on a breezy day we hear the gorgeous ‘tuned’ wind chimes inside.

The birds love this quiet spot too.. they drink from the fountain…

A pair of wrens even tried out this little ceramic bird house I bought from Home Goods.

It’s been so fun watching Mama Robin build her nest in this little spot under the pergola.

This porch is mostly full of vintage garden things I’ve picked up over the years at tag sales for pennies.

And of course there are a few antique windows on display…

Hung ‘as is’… just the way I like to display them, so they can ‘tell their story’ of their previous life.

I’m kind of glad that visitors couldn’t find this front porch, it’s turned out to be a favorite, quiet, secret garden spot of mine.
