Someone Else’s House: Amazing Closet Transformation

DecorateWithaLittleBit.com before and after closet collage

When I showed you this young couple’s stairs and the clever numbered treatment they did to them, I mentioned that they were working on transforming this closet.

It sits across the landing from the stairs, between the kitchen and living room of this antique bungalow home they bought a few months ago. Since then, they’ve been busy transforming it into click here to read the rest of the story…

Master Bedroom, Pottery Barn Linens, Just Not a Messy Bed

I’ve been sort of delaying getting the master bedroom revealed on this blog. Mostly because I’ve really been struggling with making the pictures look as good as the room looks in real life. For some reason, I can’t get a good angle with the bed, either it looks huge, or it looks messy. And then this week I got the Pottery Barn catalogue in the mail and the bedroom pic, that by the way, looked great… of course, had bed linens that were slightly messy.

Doesn’t that bed above from Pottery Barn look great? Yeah, I tried to embrace the ‘messy’ bed look. I wasn’t happy with that picture either. And the toile printed linens I have, even came from Pottery Barn. (maybe I just lack the guts to pull that messy look off, Ha! after all, what if you thought that since I posted pics of my bed messy, you thought that was how I normally kept it? Gasp!)

So instead I tried to get the same angle and closeness of the bed as Pottery Barn did… Read More of the Story…

Our House… Spare Bedroom, Home to the Orioles

A few weeks ago I switched the two spare bedrooms around at ‘Our House’… it suddenly dawned on me that both rooms would benefit by switching the furniture. One room is larger than the other, yet the smaller of the two rooms housed a pair of twin beds leaving the larger room with the queen bed.

When I first started blogging, I was getting my ‘posting legs’ with a series from the West Bedroom… that was where the queen bed used to be… but now that I switched it to the other smaller bedroom, this is what it looks like. Read on…

Little Brick Cottage… Back Bedroom Done!

Last time I showed you the front bedroom, in this two bedroomLittle Brick Cottage”. Now I’m going to show you how we transformed the back bedroom.

When we first bought this antique Victorian brick house, so quaint and sorta small it quickly got the name ‘the little brick cottage’. At that time the back bedroom looked like this: (almost as startling as Large Marge was in PeeWee’s Big Adventure, remember? “…and she looked like this…!”)

There she is, in all her ‘before’ glory!  Read on…

Little Brick Cottage…Front Entry From Start to End!

Yay! I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to be able to start this new series…because it means the “Little Brick Cottage” is done! Yep, all done, every single room! So this, part 1 in the series for ‘reveals’ of the completely renovated antique brick cottage, will feature the front entry and just in case you missed some or all the other posts on the progress I’ll try to be as descriptive in this post from the beginning to the end of the renovation, and give you plenty of hyperlinks for you to click to see more details for that subject.

Here’s where it all started:

This is the outside entrance to the front door. Remember? This door is an amazing 42 inches wide! We bought this antique brick house at the very end of December, 2011. That’s just about 3 months ago, and we’ve been busy getting it completely renovated.

Now, let’s go inside. Here’s the view of that same front door looking from the living room back towards the front entry. Before and After! Read on…

Little Brick Cottage, It’s Gone! All Gone!

Ok, let’s look at some before and afters:

We’ve seen this view a few times, but it’s gone now… Read on…

Little Brick Cottage: Little Brick Cottage, This Bathroom has a Plan, sort of, maybe.

The actual square footage, of the bathroom is quite generous, but as you see below, just to get to the sink is nearly a hazard, not to mention there is no shower because the window is in the way.
