A couple of weeks ago, we had the wonderful pleasure of being invited up to stay at this magnificent place that sits on the South shore of Lake Superior in Northern Wisconsin.
It’s a house, that looks like a barn, and was constructed by repurposing the wood, beams and materials from 7 antique barns.

Last time I showed you some amazingly creative lights that are in the house… this time I want to show you some more of the gorgeous, rustic details of this place! click here to read the rest of the story…
When we bought ‘Our House’ 15 or so years ago, the lower level was unfinished. We spent that first summer getting it finished. Since then, though I’ve changed the wall treatments, furniture and light fixtures… (a few times) I haven’t changed the flooring. (not counting rugs)
We originally purchased really good quality flooring and since it’s a lower level family room, it doesn’t get beat up like a main level floor would.
And that’s a big however! Even though it was still in great shape, I am sick of it!
The carpet part of the room is still fine. It’s super neutral and has a ‘cable knit sweater’ pattern to it that I still like. But the vinyl by the patio door, that’s a different story. At the time it was awesome, sort of retro styled, but I am just so sick of the green and pattern.
Yep! We decided to replace the vinyl with laminate, (ok… so who’s the ‘we’ in we? click here to read the rest of the story…
Ok, Little Brick Cottage wins today! (I know, the title gave it away.)
So far I’ve revealed the entry and living room at the little brick cottage. So what’s for today??? It’s my favorite room, (I think… although the back entry is a very close 2nd, and I have to admit that I love the kitchen, especially that window over the sink, and oh, those cubbies in the bathroom turned out really cute…) So let’s just say, it’s one of my favorite rooms.
Enough! Here is the dining room looking from the living room we just finished showing you:
You can see in the dining room has the same maple flooring as the living room, which we found hiding under the carpet. And you can see that the dining room radiator got the same bronze treatment as the living room’s.
Wanna see a pic of the dining room before again? Well, sure you do! Read on…
